This review is from: Amika Professional Pulse Action Straightener, Red (Misc.) I bought my wife this straightener and a little over a month later (just past Amazon's 30 day return period) it wouldn't turn on right away, and the heat control wasn't working. She finally got it to turn on and the straightener heated up by itself over 400 degrees and started to smoke. I cannot return this item through Amazon because I'm past the 30 day return period, and I cannot return it through Amika's product warranty either because Amazon is not an authorized retailer for their products. If you buy it from Amika you have had a whole year to return it! The Amika website says there are plenty of "poor quality fakes" out there, so buy it directly from their website or another authorized seller, not here. Head's up!
