better than curling Iron, February 13, 2012 This review is from: Topstyler 20 Ceramic Heated Styling Shells w/Accessories (Misc.) Even though it is a bit expensive it is worth every penny. The thing is to keep on practicing on how to put the shells on (Depending on the style that you want, some do take more time to do). In the begining it took me about 45 minutesin total to put the shells on and style it, but now I can do an easy and to-go style in a total of 20 minutes. I did use my own styling hair spray and the curls last two days.
At the end of the day, it really depends on how much pacitence you have to style your hair (I don't)

I got this from my mom for XMas 2011. I love it, it works beautifully on natural hair (I used it on my mom's hair) but when i tried to do the same to my weave it didn't so much as bend from the shells. So I tried it again, and got the same result so now I can only use it on my natural hair (which at this point is not out because I'm trying to grow it: so it stays braided). So now I won't be able to use it until my hair is the length that I want it. This is a great product, works well with natural hair, just not on weaves. I just wish that I knew that before I requested this as a XMas present.
Not worth it if you have a lot of hair, March 9, 2012 This review is from: Topstyler 20 Ceramic Heated Styling Shells w/Accessories (Misc.) I had great hope for this product. My hair is really long (down to my waist), pretty thick, and naturally wavy. I think this might be some of the reason that this product did not work for me.
I tried several times to wrap my hair and use this product and it didn't work at all. For one, if you use too little hair then the clip won't stay in place at your scalp. If you use too much, the curl won't take too well and the clip won't hold in place at the scalp. See the problem??
Very expensive for something that doesn't work as advertised.
This might work for you if you don't have very thick hair and isn't longer than an inch or two past your shoulders. Unfortunately for me, this means this won't work for my hair.
If you have hair like mine, a curling iron works much much better! Cheaper too....
